because I fucking love Keladry of Mindelan and how very real Tamora Pierce made her.

• She’s covered with scars and calluses from training and battles
• She gets blistered, bruised, sore, sweaty and dirty
• She’s thickly muscled from years of grueling physical training
• She has a god damn practical hair cut
• Every single quality she has is the product of years of training. This includes her fighting skills, but also her chivalry, self-control and determination.
• She encounters sexism and tells it to go fuck itself
• She makes decisions about her own sexuality
• She’s girly when she wants to be, because there’s nothing wrong with liking pretty dresses

She’s a god damn hardened warrior and the only thing delicate about her appearance is her cute little nose.

I was re-reading Squire today and all I could think was how good a movie it would be.
